Remote Client Identification

An overview of the remote identification process your clients will complete.



Overview

Clients will receive a secure link (via email) prompting them to verify their identity through our identity provider, Persona. The remote process is compliant with FINTRAC requirements and typically takes 2-3 minutes to complete.


Walkthrough of What Your Client Sees


1 - Receive Verification Email

Your client will receive an email, they'll need to click the Start Verification button initiate the identification process.

2 - Persona Flow Initiation

The client will be redirected to Persona's identity verification flow, where they'll see a welcome screen and a prompt to start the process.

3 - Review Best Practices

Before beginning, clients are shown helpful tips (e.g., use good lighting, avoid glare).

4 - Select Country of Issuance

Clients choose the Country where their ID was issued.

5 - Choose Document Type

Clients are presented with the following Types of IDs they can choose from.

6 - Capture ID Photos

The client will be prompted to take clear photos of:

    1. The Front of their ID
    2. The Back of their ID, if applicable

7 - Selfie/Liveliness Check

The client will be prompted to take a Selfie to match against their ID photo.

8 - Success Confirmation

Once complete, the client will see a confirmation message and the verification will be submitted automatically.
